Intro to Agility Class

For teams that want to begin agility training. DOGS MUST HAVE A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF BASIC OBEDIENCE SKILLS TO PARTAKE! Teams will learn basic foundation skills and floor work needed to begin working as a team. This training will start on-leash and transition to off leash. Teams will also be introduced to low level agility equipment using safe techniques. The goal of this level is to introduce dogs to various agility obstacles while working off leash. It will also teach the teams basic handling skills necessary to safely manipulate their dogs through a 3-4 obstacle sequence.

Dog must be 1+ years of age with prior obedience training.

Mondays 5:30 pm - 6:15 pm Beginning April 28th and running for 6 weeks.

Beginner Agility Class

This level is for teams that have completed the Intro to Agility class. Dogs must have a clear understanding of basic Obedience skills and must be reliable off leash. Teams will be introduced to all types of agility equipment with the primary focus on contact equipment (teeter, A-Frame, and dog walk) along with weave poles. The goal of this level will eventually allow the teams to improve their basic handling skills necessary to safely manipulate their dogs through longer obstacle sequences.

Dog must be 1+ years of age with prior obedience and Intro to Agility training.

Tuesdays at 5:00 pm - 5:45 pm Beginning April 29th and running for 6 weeks

Intermediate Agility Class

This level is for teams that have completed the Intro to Agility and Beginner Agility classes. Dogs must have a clear understanding of basic Obedience skills and must be reliable off leash. Teams will work on more advanced obstacles sequences while learning the importance of body position and timing commands. Dogs will perform obstacles at standard height and weave poles at 6 inches. The goal of this level will eventually allow the teams to enhance their handling skills necessary to safely manipulate their dogs through a novice agility course.

Dog must be 1+ years of age with prior obedience and Beginner Agility training.

Tuesdays 6:00 pm - 6:45 pm Beginning April 29th and running for 6 weeks

Advanced Agility Class

This level is for teams that have completed the Intermediate Agility class. Teams at this level are either training toward future competition or are currently competing in the agility ring or are doing this to challenge themselves as an agility team. Dogs must have a clear understanding of basic Obedience skills and must be reliable off leash. Teams will continue to enhance their handling skills necessary to safely manipulate their dogs through an Intermediate/Advanced agility course. Focus will be on performance of weave poles (in sets of 6 and 12 poles), distance handling and advanced handling skills. 

Dog must be 1+ years of age with prior obedience and Intermediate Agility training.

Tuesdays 7:00 pm - 7:45 pm Beginning April 29th and running for 6 weeks

Bring Vaccination Records and Negative Stool Record

$80 per class - Do NOT bring your dog


All classes are 45 minutes sessions for 6 weeks. The class fee to non-members is based on the number of weeks in each session. Any student unable to attend further class nights may request a refund prior to the third week of class.

All dogs must be crated when not working on the floor. If your dog is reactive, bring a crate cover or crate from your vehicle. Proof of vaccinations & a clean fecal report is required with class application, for non-members. Overweight, injured/lame, or unhealthy dogs will not be allowed to participate in classes.


Jr handlers must be a minimum of 12 yrs old to participate. A parent or legal guardian must remain on the grounds while that child attends class. No child is permitted to approach a dog at any time, whether the dog is crated inside the building or outside in a vehicle. Any children on the grounds during a class may NEVER be unattended inside the building or in the parking lot! The instructor(s) & MCKC will not be liable for any accidents or damages incurred by any individual or his/her dog(s).

All dogs must be crated when not working with an instructor. Please bring treats and toys to encourage motivation.

Proof of vaccination and a negative fecal report is required on sign up night. No dogs are allowed in class with flea or tick infestation.


Dogs showing aggression in class (within reason) will be refunded their fee and be referred to an Animal Behaviorist. Wolf hybrids are not accepted in any class.

Dogs must be on lead at all times, indoors or out, unless permitted by the Trainer. It is recommended that a 6-foot leather leash be used and flat buckle collars. Retractable leads are not allowed in the building! Dogs will be brought into the building on a very short lead, so as not to interact with other dogs, and be placed within their crate immediately. Chain link or prong collars are not permitted for training, only flat buckle or martingale design.

Female dogs in season are NOT permitted in the building at any time. Speak with your instructor if your dog comes into season during a class. 


Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their own dog. There is a graveled, fenced area for use with clean up bags/tools. It is advised to carry a flashlight with you if you will be relieving your dog on the grounds after dark. If your dog relieves itself during class, you are expected to clean it up & dispose of the contents in the trash can within the small exercise area.

Smoking is prohibited on MCKC Grounds.


If classes need to be cancelled due to bad weather, listen to local radio or television channels for an announcement. In the event that your class is cancelled, your class will be extended by 1 week.
